I hope this is finished. I feel certain that it is, but if you have other thoughts please say, because I really want to get this printed off from a copy house or something and set up my own online store and start selling stuff.

I've been slowly working on this for quite a while now. I got the idea from Drake Bell, haha. I thought I need to practice my figure drawings and saw some new photos on his myspace and drew them (hence the scraps section) and saw this one of him in the bath with an umbrella and thought it'll be really cool to elaborate the concept further and thought about putting a rain forest scene around him.

While I was working on it it reminded me of the Beatles song "Tomorrow Never Knows."

"Turn off your mind,
relax and float down stream
It is not dying
It is not dying

Lay down all thought
Surrender to the void
It is shining
It is shining

That you may see
The meaning of within
It is being
It is being

That love is all
And love is everyone
It is knowing
It is knowing

That ignorance and hate
May mourn the dead
It is believing
It is believing

But listen to the
color of your dreams
It is not living
It is not living

Or play the game
existence to the end
Of the beginning
Of the beginning "
...etc

I did the background with food colouring and painted the vines over the top in watercolour. I drew Drake and the bath with ink and those old fashioned nib pens. The butterflies were drawn with Prisma pencils and digitally painted the rest and put together in photoshop.

The flowers were also drawn with just ink and a nib pen. I got the idea with the food colouring and the paper like flowers from this amazing piece, which I totally adore the style of Ice-brand.deviantart.com/art/I…

And the textures are just baking paper and a little wooden 9x5 board I had lying around.

My idea also had goldfish in it to make it more surreal, and I spent days just drawing goldfish but they didn't really fit in the piece but I still managed to put in a silhouette of two fish down the bottom corners.

I'm just started to explore digital painting further and found some great tutorials that helped a lot.

I had a little help with the garden with some foliage brushes from these great people:

mynti.deviantart.com/art/CS3-G… - I don't think I ended up using this one but they're really cool and worth a mention.
